My Tribute

Mel-and-MomMy page would not be here, if it hadn’t been for my dear Mother.  I created Melody’s Coffee Addiction, while caretaking for my Mom, for a year and a half,  while suffering from Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s.  She went to be with the Lord, November 5th, 2012.  My Mother, Janice Lewis, was a very talented pianist, pastor’s wife, a special education teacher for 40 years, and one of the kindest people you could ever meet.  Her love of the Lord was number one in her life, and everyone around her knew it.

Being Pa Dutch, my mother could “whip” up anything from a casserole, to a pot roast dinner, with all the trimmings.. Her desserts were to die for.  I can still see her making funnel cakes for brunch, or a special occasion.  Her shoe fly pies and specialty breads were
off the charts!!

I am taking with me her joy, sincere faith in the Lord, helping and encouraging others, kindness, forgiveness, her piano playing, and  cooking.

To all you caretakers out there, God bless you all!!  It is one of the hardest, but rewarding things you can do.  I would do it all over
again 🙂

I miss you dearly, Mom.  Until we meet again in heaven. “It Will Be Worth It All, When We See Jesus”

Love, your oldest daughter,
Melody
